Man, 52, killed in fatal house fire today in Masury

MASURY

The Ohio State Fire Marshal is investigating a fatal fire that occurred this morning.

The Trumbull County 911 dispatch center received a call at 6:50 a.m. of a fire at 8136 W. Ohio St. It was initially reported that two adults and two children were at the residence. Firefighters from Brookfield, Hartford, Hubbard and Mercer County [Pa.] were dispatched to the area five minutes from after the call.

The Brookfield Fire Department reported that heavy smoke was showing from the residence and learned at that point that the mother along with two children were camping outside of the home.

The fire killed a 52-year-old man who was in the basement where the fire started.

The fire was under control at 7 a.m. with firefighters clearing the scene at 10:12 a.m.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

The identity of the victim has not been released yet.
