YOUNGSTOWN

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced another round of closures of Mahoning County roadways Thursday.

In Canfield, the ramp from state Route 11 northbound to U.S. Route 224 will reopen at 5 p.m. today. Also reopening today is Raccoon Road just south of Route 224. Both of those roads had been closed for widening of Raccoon.

Similarly, starting Thursday night, Raccoon just north of Route 224 and Route 224 and Raccoon will have various lane restrictions for roadway widening.

That is part of the ongoing $6.5 million project to widen and replace the Route 224 bridge over Route 11 and also widen Raccoon at Route 224.

In Austintown, the ramp from Route 11 northbound to Interstate 80 eastbound will be closed next Friday through mid-November for bridge replacement and widening.

ODOT said the detour for traffic during that work is Interstate 680 southbound to state Route 711 northbound.

On July 11, the I-80 eastbound ramp to Route 11 southbound will be closed through 6 a.m. July 13 for pavement repairs. During that weekend, traffic will be detoured to I-80 eastbound/Route 11 northbound to Salt Springs Road to I-80 westbound to Route 11 southbound.

That work is part of a three-year, $108.4 million project to widen I-80 from Route 11 and state Route 193 (Belmont Avenue).

In the village of Beloit, state Route 165 one mile north of U.S. Route 62 between Mill and 1st streets will be closed today for emergency railroad crossing repair. The detour for that construction is Route 62 to state Route 534.
