Native Plants

What: Growing our native plants will save you time, water and money, and give you a more beautiful garden than your neighbor.

Where: In the Garden @ OSU Extension, Trumbull County, 520 W. Main St., Cortland.

Garden to Table

When: 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 9.

What: Lift your spirits by enjoying an evening of quality locally sourced food and live music while overlooking Lake Glacier.

Where: Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown.

Gardening Basics

When: 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 11.

What: ‚äLearn the basics of conscientious pest management, called Integrated Pest Management.

BIRD BANDING WITH AL

When: ‚ä8 a.m. to noon July 11.

What: See live, wild songbirds in the hand and learn why bird banding is an important tool for bird and wildlife conservation. Banding sessions are canceled in the event of rain.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva.

Cost: Free.

Bugs In Your Yard

When: 9:30 a.m. to noon July 15.

What: Join us for coffee with the Master Gardeners for a special morning with Ashley Kulhanek, an entomology expert. Learn about the good and bad bugs.

LIGHTNING BUGS

When: 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. July 10.

What: Experienced kayakers can bring their own boats for an evening on the water and hope lightning bugs will help light the way. Age 18 and older. Bring a light or glow sticks.
