A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
June 24
Theft: Someone stole a $300 wooden picnic table from Poland Township Park off Moore Road.
BOARDMAN
June 24
Burglary: Occurred in the 700 block of Tudor Lane. Stolen were two flat-screen TVs and a Wii game system.
Theft: Property, including an iPod device and credit cards, was removed from two vehicles in the 4100 block of Shelby Road.
Misuse of a credit card: A Warren woman discovered on her credit-card statement $290 worth of fraudulent charges that originated from a Doral Drive big-box store.
Theft: A woman reported $350 and a variety of over-the-counter medications missing from her vehicle while at an apartment in the 100 block of Shields Road.
Harassment: A Salinas Trail man reported having gotten such calls, including some claiming he owes money on a credit-card account.
Arrest: Officers conducting a welfare check at a Zander Road residence took into custody Sunni L. Guy, 22, of Zander, Boardman, who was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Theft: Asia Z. Munoz, 20, of East Philadelphia Avenue, Youngstown, and a 14-year-old city girl were charged with stealing $143 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Identity theft: A Sciota Avenue woman learned that her personal information had been used without consent to obtain a student loan.
June 25
Arrest: Devon M. Talley Jr., no age given, of Fairgreen Avenue, Youngstown, was arrested in the 8100 block of Market Street on a charge of receiving stolen property after a burglary in the 700 block of Tudor Lane in which a Wii game system and two flat-screen TVs were taken.
Criminal damaging: Someone in the 3900 block of Risher Road placed into a trash can a firecracker or other type of small explosive device and detonated it.
Theft: Raymond Gallaugher Jr., 39, of South Cedar Street, Niles, surrendered after being accused of stealing 78 garden plants May 26 from Walmart.
Arrest: A township boy, 14, was charged with making a false alarm, a first-degree misdemeanor, after a Boardman High School official and another witness alleged the teen had intentionally activated a fire alarm without cause.
Assault: A Youngstown woman reported having been punched three or four times in the face while in the 900 block of Windham Court.
Forgery/theft: An employee with Karmax Inc., 695 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered two books of checks had been stolen. Also, six checks were forged and cashed for about $1,213.
Theft: Police near Southern Park Mall arrested 34-year-old Dominique K. Toomer of Market Street, Boardman, who was wanted on a theft warrant related to a May 28 shoplifting situation at Dollar General, 4996 Market.
Harassment: A Valley View Drive couple said they have received since December a series of unwanted text messages, including some that were sexual.
Theft: A woman reported her wallet missing at a Doral Drive store.
Theft: Authorities booked Mark A. Cunningham, 32, of Wilson Street, Struthers, after various tools were stolen June 21 from a construction site in the 1800 block of Massachusetts Avenue.
June 26
Arrest: A traffic stop near Washington Boulevard led to 20-year-old Chad P. Daley’s arrest. The Rome, Ohio, man was charged with operating a vehicle impaired.
Drugs: Authorities responded to a complaint regarding a possibly intoxicated person in the 7100 block of Lockwood Boulevard, where they charged 36-year-old Darlene M. Haffner of nearby Indian Run Drive, Canfield, with one felony count of drug possession as well as one misdemeanor count each of possession of drug-abuse instruments and child endangering. A syringe with a brown liquid thought to be heroin was found, and Haffner had a child with her, a report showed.
Menacing: An employee with a Southern Park Mall store reported a former co-worker has been stalking her while at work and, on one occasion, confronted the accuser as she walked to her car.
Theft: A manager with Steak ‘n’ Shake, 6706 Applewood Blvd., alleged an employee had stolen $100 from a register.
Arrest: Authorities picked up Ebony D. Wilson, 32, at her Shields Road apartment. The woman was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Burglary: A Rush Boulevard man reported having awoken to someone holding a gun to his face before a cellphone and a laptop computer were stolen.
Arrests: While answering a disturbance call at a Market Street motel, officers took into custody 22-year-old Frednisha J. Jackson of Potomac Avenue, Youngstown, on a Canfield warrant, and 22-year-old Keniceia T. Miller of Akron, who was wanted on a felony probation-violation charge. Also, police handed a minor-misdemeanor citation to Michael L. Ratliff, 33, of Chatham Lane, Youngstown, charging him with marijuana possession.
June 27
Bad check: Austintown police handed to township authorities Ashley R. Rowan of Surrey Pointe Drive, Warren, who was wanted on a misdemeanor charge of passing a bad check. The 32-year-old Rowan was accused of making a $500 down payment at a Market Street car dealership with a check that was returned for insufficient funds.
Theft: The rear license plate was removed from a vehicle in the 6600 block of Market Street.
Criminal mischief: About six eggs were tossed at a residence and garage in the 100 block of Caribou Drive.
Misuse of a credit card: A Market Street woman discovered a man who had been staying with her made $214 worth of unauthorized charges to her credit card.
Identity fraud: A West Boulevard man told officers he received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service stating someone had used his Social Security number to file a 2014 income-tax return.
Stolen property: Authorities phone booked Tyasia E. Boykin, 21, of Tyrell Street, Youngstown, on a felony receiving-stolen-property charge after a Maple Drive couple reported their minivan stolen May 13 after having returned from a vacation.
Theft: A Mundelein, Ill., man reported his suitcase stolen while at a Tiffany Boulevard motel.
Drugs: Marchello D. Stokes, 29, who listed Youngstown addresses on West Boston and Trussit avenues, was taken into custody on a felony drug-possession warrant from Columbiana County after having been stopped at an Operating a Vehicle Impaired checkpoint in the 800 block of Indianola Road.
Theft: A $489 cellphone was taken from an AT&T display case in Southern Park Mall.
June 28
Arrest: While working at an OVI checkpoint in the 4100 block of South Avenue, officers took 23-year-old Tausha R. Milender into custody on a bench warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court. Milender, of East Judson Avenue, Youngstown, also was wanted on a probation-violation charge from Niles.
Citations: Police at an OVI checkpoint in the 6800 block of Market Street issued minor-misdemeanor citations charging Monica M. Gragorace, 24, of Boardman, and 51-year-old John A. Peoples of North Meridian Road, Youngstown, with marijuana possession when, they said, two bags of suspected marijuana were found.
Theft: A woman reported her $800 iPhone stolen from her car while in the 300 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Domestic violence: Brian K. Taylor, 43, of Beard Road, New Springfield, was charged with the crime after his former girlfriend, of Boardman Boulevard, alleged Taylor had threatened her and a man she was with, causing the accuser to fear for her safety.
Burglary: Took place in the 6800 block of Tanglewood Drive. Items were found strewn about, though it didn’t appear anything was taken.
Theft: A woman reportedly stole $70 worth of bed sheets from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: Vicki L. Shacklock, 56, of Florence Drive, North Lima, was charged with taking a $5 pair of women’s shorts from Walmart.
June 29
Theft: A Pearson Circle woman reported her $600 iPhone stolen.
Theft: A man left Buffalo Wild Wings in Southern Park Mall without paying a $30 food bill.
June 30
Trespassing: Jesse C. Hardin, 64, of Presidential Court, Boardman, surrendered on a criminal-trespassing charge.
