Campbell man faces kidnapping, other charges

Staff report

CAMPBELL

Trivonne Scott, 18, of Campbell has a hearing at 9 a.m. today in municipal court here to answer charges of kidnapping to restrain liberty, domestic violence and obstructing official business.

Police responded Tuesday night to reports of a woman and children screaming for help from inside a residence on Devitt Avenue. Police reported seeing a woman waving for help from behind a window inside the home.

According to police, there were three people in the front yard and a 37-year old man on the front porch. They all said the man on the porch was trying to help the woman inside, a police report states.

The report states that, after trying to forcefully open the front door, officers were told by witnesses the victim, a 21-year old female, had left the residence. Officers spoke to the woman outside the home, and she told them the suspect was inside.

Officers then entered the home through the front door, found several rooms in disarray and located and handcuffed Scott. They found no children in the home.

The officers concluded Scott had struck, shoved and kicked the woman, according to the report. Scott also had marks on his neck, nose and arms, the report states.

The woman agreed to be taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Scott was taken to the Mahoning County jail, held there without bond, until his arraignment.
