Campbell man arrested after causing a scene at restaurant
CAMPBELL — Police responded Wednesday night to reports of an intoxicated, confrontational male at the Burger King drive-thru window on McCartney Road.
Officer Robert Vukovich arrived at the scene and observed the vehicle’s driver, Edward Jackson, 57, of Campbell yelling at Burger King staff members and trying to grab food from them.
Vukovich also reported Jackson had slurred speech and a open bottle of vodka on the driver’s-seat floor. The police report says Jackson’s license was suspended and he attempted and failed a series of sobriety tests.
Vukovich placed Jackson under arrest for driving under the influence, driving under suspension and violating open-container laws and took him to Campbell City Jail.
While in his holding cell, Jackson complained of shortness of breath and asked for his asthma medication. Paramedics then transported Jackson to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for medical evaluation.
He will be arraigned in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
