Youngstown man charged with knocking out woman in Warren

WARREN — A Youngstown man is in the Trumbull County Jail after his arraignment in municipal court today on charges he knocked a woman out June 24.

Willie J. Hill, 53, of East Wood Street, was arraigned on a charge of felonious assault and has a bond of $75,000, according to court records.

Police reports said officers were called to St. Joseph Warren Hospital 7:25 p.m. June 24, where a 51-year-old woman told the officer she picked Hill up in Youngstown and took him to her apartment. Reports said she told the officer Hill hit her in the head with a metal rail during an argument and she was knocked unconscious.

She waited several hours before seeking treatment because the woman said she is afraid of Hill, reports said.

A warrant was issued for Hill and he was arrested at his Youngstown apartment without incident about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.
