Liberty police investigating apartment burglary

LIBERTY — Police are investigating a burglary from an apartment on Oakland Drive.

The apartment's tenants reported returning home Tuesday evening to find their apartment had been ransacked and that $500 in cash, two pairs of gym shoes and an Xbox gaming console were missing. The estimated value of the missing items totals $2,040.

The tenants also reported their flat-screen television had been damaged.

A neighbor said he had heard broken glass and then saw a man leaving out the apartment window while carrying gym shoes. The neighbor said he observed this about 5 p.m., roughly an hour before the tenants notified the police.
