Last of 3 convicts in 1969 Ohio murders dies in custody

COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio authorities say the last of three men convicted in the 1969 murders of four women during a bank robbery has died.

A Department of Corrections spokeswoman says Raymond Kassow died Sunday evening in Franklin Medical Center in Columbus from “natural causes.” He was 70.

Delhi Township police issued a press release saying “all three monsters are now deceased.” The robbers shocked residents of the western Cincinnati suburb by herding three female customers and a female teller into a vault and shooting them to leave no witnesses.

They were all caught, convicted and received death sentences that were later commuted to life in prison.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports ( http://cin.ci/1JwJUa9 ) Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters says of Kassow’s death: “Good riddance. He executed innocent women.”
