Boardman trustees vote to award contract for 2015 paving

BOARDMAN — Trustees today voted to award a $956,383 contract to RT Vernal Paving and Excavating Inc. of North Lima for this year’s road-resurfacing program.

That contract was jointly awarded with Austintown Township; the two communities go in on paving contracts together to cut down on costs.

Boardman will pay about $383,000 – $150,000 by the Ohio Public Works Commission grant – road Superintendent Larry Wilson says, to repave a little more than 3.5 miles of road.

Roads that will be resurfaced this year are Windel Way; Forest Lake, Mayport, Griswold and Royal Palm drives; Simon Road; Boardman Boulevard; Wendy Lane; Oak Knoll Drive from Overhill to Alburn; Annawan Lane from Rush to Euclid; Bristlewood Drive from U.S. Route 224 to Trailwood; Lemoyne Avenue from Basil to Sequoya; Crestview Drive from West Boulevard to Northlawn; Buchanan Drive from Presidential Drive to the cul-de-sac; and Salinas Trail from Glenwood Avenue to Sierra Madre Trail.
