DIVISION I

Fitch wins to advance; Boardman ousted

COPLEY

The Falcons beat Green, 52-14, and Copley, 41-21, at Copley High School to advance to next week’s regional semifinals. Fitch wrestlers Nick Davis (113), Andrew Fairbanks (120), Adam Green (152), Kyle Varga (160), Isiah Jackson (170), Tex Martin (182) and Jake Franks (220) all won both of their matches.

Boardman’s team was eliminated in a 44-22 loss to Copley.

The site for next week’s regional semifinals will be announced later.

DIVISION II

Canfield advances with two wins at home

CANFIELD

The Cardinals rolled over Indian Creek, 77-0, and then beat Steubenville, 39-27, at Canfield High School to advance to next week’s regional semifinals.

Sean Frisbie (113), Kyle West (126), Georgio Poullas (132), Braxton Madison (145), David Crawford (152), David Hofsess (170), Jaret Bunch (195) and Jacob Esarco (220) all won both of their matches for Canfield.

The site for next week’s regional semifinals will be announced later.

Beaver, Salem and West Branch ousted

CARROLLTON

The Beavers and Quakers both won their opening matches, but later fell and were eliminated at Carrollton High School.

Beaver edged West Branch, 39-33, and Salem topped Buckeye Local, 51-24.

Carrollton later eliminated Salem, 62-6, and Beaver, 39-30.

Howland eliminated by Ravenna

RAVENNA

The Tigers began the tournament with a 40-30 win over Painesville Harvey at Ravenna High School, but were then defeated the host Ravens, 54-17.

Ravenna also beat Jefferson, 66-12, to advance to the regional semifinals

Hubbard loses in first-round match

PERRY

The Eagles lost a tight opening match to West Geauga, 40-34. Southeast, meanwhile, opened with a 42-31 win over Lake Catholic at Perry High School.

Perry then advanced by eating West Geauga, 71-9, and Southeast, 41-27.

DIVISION III

Girard advances with two victories

GIRARD

The Indians beat Grand Valley, 62-15, and Pymatuning Valley, 42-31, at Girard High School to advance to next week’s regional semifinals at a site to be determined.

Liberty tops Cardinal, falls to Kirtland

KIRTLAND

The Leopards opened the tournament with a 48-33 victory over Middlefield Cardinal at Kirtland High School, but were eliminated in a 61-18 defeat against the host Hornets.
