5 Akron firefighters and three others hurt in house fire

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say five Akron firefighters had to be treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation after a house fire that injured three others.

Media reports say none of the firefighters appeared to suffer any serious injuries.

The fire broke out this morning. Two women trapped upstairs inside the house were rescued.

Akron fire officials say one woman suffered severe burns. Two others who were in the home were being treated for smoke inhalation.
