Howland native cut from ‘Bachelor’

Jillian Anderson’s run on ABC’s “The Bachelor” ended Monday night.

Anderson, a Howland native who now lives in Washington, D.C., started strong on the episode but ended in tears.

She earned a date with Chris Soules (a.k.a., the bachelor) by badly beating the competition — five other contestants — in a mud-pit obstacle course. The fit Anderson, who is a body builder, tore through the course and finished first.

But her date with Soules wasn’t as successful. She talked too much for Soules, and deflected his desire to have children when asked about her goals. At the end of the date, Soules did not give the tearful Anderson a rose, ending her time on the show.

Anderson, 25, was part of the 30 women competing on the show.

She is a 2007 graduate of Howland High School and a 2013 graduate of Youngstown State University. She lives in the Washington area, where she works for Fox News.
