Weathersfield Twp. man gets life prison term for raping two girls

WARREN — Michael A. Hanick, 58, of Clearfield Avenue in Weathersfield Township, was sentenced today to life in prison with parole eligibility after 10 years for raping two girls in 2012, 2013 and 2014 at his home.

He pleaded guilty in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to four rape counts, including two that carried a possible life prison sentence. He raped an 11-year-old girl twice in 2014 and a girl 12 to 13 years old in 2012 and 2013, said Diane Barber, assistant county prosecutor.

Weathersfield police investigated after Trumbull County Children Services reported that one of the victims told agency personnel about them.

Hanick received his sentence from Judge Andrew Logan.
