YWCA grant to help provide housing

YOUNGSTOWN

YWCA of Youngstown has been awarded a grant for $5,000 from the Deluxe Corporation Foundation for its transitional housing program.

The YWCA advocates for women who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

The highest percentage of those who are homeless in our community, and nationally, are women and children.

Addressing this need is the YWCA Barbara M. Wick Transitional Housing Program, in which the YWCA provides transitional housing for up to one year for women and families who are homeless due to life circumstance.

The YWCA has multiple properties serving more than 25 households at a time with a waiting list just as long.
