Cookbook will benefit area humane society

Cleveland Paranormal Research Society is collecting recipes for a cookbook that will be published and sold to raise money for the Columbiana County Humane Society.

Residents are asked to submit their recipes with their names and any special information about the recipe.

Categories are appetizers and drinks, soups and salads, veggies and side dishes, main dishes, breads and rolls, desserts, cookies, candy and miscellaneous.

Once enough recipes have been submitted, they will be published in a cookbook.

Early estimations for prices of the cookbook range between $12 and $15.

Recipes can be emailed to ClevelandParanormal@yahoo.com or dropped off at the Columbiana County Humane Society, 825 S. Lincoln Ave., Salem.

Winter survival is part of library series

Salem

Boy Scout Troop 3 will be on hand Feb. 21 at Waterworth Memorial Park to teach winter survival skills.

It’s all part of the Salem Public Library “Go Wild in the Park” series.

Troop leaders and the Salem Parks Recreational Department will demonstrate how to dress warmly, gather food and build a fire and snow shoes.

The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required at www.salem.lib.oh.us or call 330-332-5512 for information.

Those attending are encouraged to dress warmly.
