2 charged in incident where gunshot misses Cleveland cops

CLEVELAND (AP) — Two men face charges for an incident that authorities say resulted in a Cleveland police officer receiving powder burns to the face when one of the suspects fired a handgun during a struggle.

Cleveland police Ellis Tiller, 37, was charged today with one count of felonious assault on a police officer and one count of aggravated burglary. Dwayne Sheron, 33, was charged with one count of aggravated burglary.

Police say Tiller fired a gun that narrowly missed a police officer during a struggle while the officer tried to frisk him. Police say the officer’s partner tackled Tiller and knocked the gun away. Tiller was subdued after more officers arrived. Sheron was arrested without incident.
