The deadline for purchasing 2015 dog licenses in Columbiana County is Jan. 31. All dog owners who harbor dogs 3 months of age or older are required to license their dogs annually.

Licenses can be purchased in the auditor’s office at 105 S. Market St. They also are available at Family Drug, Columbiana; Damascus General True Value, Damascus; Milligan True Value Hardware, East Liverpool; Fuller’s True Value Hardware, East Palestine; Pure Pet, Salem; and Center Pharmacy, Wellsville.

Current account holders also can purchase licenses at www.columbianacountydoglicense.com, using their Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit or debit cards.

Cost is $10 per dog or $50 for a kennel license. Kennel licenses can be purchased only at the county dog warden’s office, 8455 County Home Road.

Dog owners who fail to meet the registration deadline will incur a penalty that is equal to the cost of the license or kennel license.

After Jan. 31, licenses will be available for purchase only at the auditor’s office.
