Defensive lineman Avery Moss has transferred to Youngstown State a month after Nebraska denied his appeal seeking re-admission.

Moss confirmed in a text message to The Associated Press on Wednesday that he was enrolling at YSU. Ex-Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini was named the Penguins’ head coach after his firing from Nebraska in November.

Moss was banned from the Nebraska campus for exposing himself to a woman at a convenience store in 2012. He pleaded no contest and was fined $500.

Moss, from Tempe, Ariz., had hoped Nebraska would lift his ban and allow him to re-enroll this month. He continued to live in Lincoln and worked at a car dealership.

Moss was named to the Big Ten’s all-freshman team in 2013 after playing in 12 games with three starts. He finished with 36 tackles, including eight for loss with 4.5 sacks. He redshirted in 2012 after playing three of the first four games. He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 4.

Moss’ addition would bolster a defensive line that already features junior-to-be Derek Rivers, who set YSU’s regular season sack record with 13 last fall, and senior-to-be Terrell Williams, who had 8.5 sacks.

The Lincoln Journal Star first reported Moss’ move to YSU, where he’ll be eligible to play this fall.

In other college football news, former Cardinal Mooney linebackers Jordan Jones has graduated and enrolled early at Kentucky, where he has been joined by former Cardinals and Nebraska linebacker Courtney Love.

Wildcats coach Mark Stoops — a Cardinal Mooney graduate — announced the mid-year enrollments of six new players.

Four of the newest Wildcats graduated from high school last month: Jones, offensive lineman George Asafo-Adjei from Lakota West (West Chester, Ohio); tight end C.J. Conrad of Keystone (LaGrange, Ohio) and defensive end Kengera Daniel of Millbrook (Raleigh, North Carolina).

Also enrolled are Nebraska transfers Love and Greg Hart, a sophomore tight end from Dayton. Both played for the Cornhuskers last season.
