Thousands in equipment stolen from Vinylume in Austintown


AUSTINTOWN — Hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment were stolen from a township business during the holiday weekend.

The break-in at Vinylume Products Inc., 3745 Henricks Road, happened sometime between 4 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Tuesday. It was reported to police at 4:53 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, a fence was cut on the property and one of the buildings was entered. Taken were 30 to 40 extrusion dies and sizers valued between $300,000 and $500,000. Store employees are checking inventory check to see if more items were taken.

Extrusion sizers and dies are used in plastic processing. The company’s website says it makes vinyl extrusions and windows and insulated glass.
