Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $7.50. No reservations are necessary. Kinsman United Methodist trustees will sell chicken and biscuit dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, 8362 Main St. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 4 to 12 and free for children 3 and under. Takeouts can be ordered by calling 330-876-5641. The church is handicap accessible.

FRIDAY

Calla Community Church, 6482 W. Calla Road, Canfield, will be the site of a benefit soup sale from 4 p.m. until sold out. It is sponsored by the Women’s Missionary Society. Soup will cost $6 per quart, and fresh bread will be sold for $2 per loaf. For advance orders call 330-507-2255, 330-501-1597 or 330-533-2822. Proceeds will benefit Sandra Manypenny of Salem, a cancer patient.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up starting at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will take orders for freshly made potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SATURDAY

Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard, will serve Swiss steak dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include home-style mashed potatoes, corn, coleslaw, bread and a beverage and cost $9 per adult and $5 per child. Meals are dine-in or carryout. The bakery will feature a variety of desserts.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will sell takeout dinners of creamed chicken on biscuit from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Today is the last day to place an order. Call 330-856-4204 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Meals include mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and dessert.

Sonny Litch Memorial Scholarship committee is planning a benefit spaghetti dinner from noon to 5 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church hall, 421 Covington St. Youngstown. Litch was a Mahoning County deputy sheriff who was killed in the line of duty in 1981. All tickets must be purchased or reserved in advance by calling Darlene Litch at 330-750-6104.

SUNDAY

Knights of Columbus Father Venglaric Council 11915 at St. Charles Church in Boardman will host a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the church hall, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman. The meal will include meatballs, salad, bread, beverage and cake, and the event will feature a basket raffle. The prices are $8 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and under. Carryouts will be available beginning at 10 a.m. Spaghetti sauce and meatballs will be available for separate purchase beginning at 10 a.m. Take a container, or one will be provided. Proceeds benefit the council’s charitable endeavors.
