Small dog missing in Idaho car theft is safe

BOISE, Idaho

Minnie the miniature pinscher isn’t offering any details about her adventure, but the small dog that was inside a 71-year-old man’s Cadillac when it was stolen is safely back home.

Boise police said Thursday that Minnie showed up at her owner’s former home, where the current resident recognized her and called the owner. Dog and owner soon were reunited.

Police say the man left his car warming up Wednesday morning then heard it speeding away.

The vehicle later was found abandoned nearly 5 miles away, but Minnie wasn’t inside.

Police say the owner is excited and thankful to have his dog back.

Man delivers 1 pizza in Michigan, gets $2,084 tip

ANN ARBOR, Mich.

Now that’s a special delivery!

A group of real-estate agents meeting in Ann Arbor surprised a man by giving him a $2,084 tip for delivering one pizza Thursday.

The man, identified only as Rob, was stunned and said on video, “All I did was deliver pizza.”

Agents from Keller Williams Realty all pitched in while attending the company’s regional conference. Stacey McVey says they wanted to show their appreciation to someone from the service industry.

Besides cash, the man received a Visa gift card, lottery tickets and letters of encouragement.

Brian LeFevre, delivery manager at Pizza House in Ann Arbor, says the lucky delivery man was “ecstatic.” He says “that’s a pretty good day’s work” for just one pizza.

Giant beaver captured at Phoenix-area lake

TEMPE, Ariz.

A giant beaver is on the mend after getting captured near a Phoenix-area lake last week.

The beaver drew the attention of joggers and onlookers in recent weeks at Tempe Town Lake because of its more than 40-pound size. Wildlife workers captured the animal with a net last week and took it to the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, where the beaver will stay until it gets healthy again and is released back into the wild.

The animal was lethargic when it came in.

Christina Tetreault said she was jogging with a friend around the lake Jan. 7 when she spotted the portly critter. Tetreault said she called authorities who came out to check on the beaver, which had by then made its way back into the water.
