Sarah Jane Bender and Townsend Emerson Smith were united in marriage in a 4:30 p.m. ceremony Oct. 4 at Julia’s Bed and Breakfast, where a reception followed.
The Rev. James Mohr officiated.
The couple went to the Bahamas on a wedding trip and now reside in Boardman.
The couple have combined their surnames and are now the Bendersmiths.
The bride is the daughter of Lee and Judith Bender of Salem, and the groom is the son of Linda Smith, also of Salem.
The bride wore an A-line ivory taffeta gown featuring a lace illusion neckline, trimmed in pearls. Her waist-length veil also was trimmed in pearls.
Serving as her honor attendant was Brittany Kuttesch, and bridesmaids were Rachael Neal and Hannah Bennett. They wore regency purple dresses.
Performing the duties of best man was Ryan Parke, and groomsmen were Joshua Corvino and Joey Rovinsky. Serving as ushers were Sean Milhoan, Sarah Sperling and Hadleigh Smith, sister of the groom.
Mrs. Bendersmith earned a bachelor’s degree from Westminster College and works as a special education teacher at Youngstown Christian School.
Mr. Bendersmith attended Bowling Green State University and is a buyer’s assistant for Giant Eagle in Harmony, Pa.
