Arrest for stolen property in Boardman

BOARDMAN

An undercover operation conducted by township police resulted in an arrest Wednesday for receiving stolen property.

Tiffany Sandrock, 29, of Youngstown, faces a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property after police caught her trying to sell a stolen purse, according to a police report.

A manager at Gracylane, 7401 Market St., reported to police Dec. 30 that a Brighton handbag was missing from the store. She said that a store employee found the missing item listed for sale on eBay, and provided police with the bag's serial number.

A Boardman police department crime analyst then initiated online communications with the suspect, and set up a meeting at a drugstore on Tippecanoe Road in Cornersburg.

Two detectives posed as the interested buyers during the meeting, and four other detectives acted as cover units, according to the report.

Detectives used the bag's serial number to confirm it was the stolen item, and arrested Sandrock.

She is free on bond pending a court appearance.
