The meeting of the Croatian Pensioners planned for Thursday at the Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, has been canceled due to the weather.

Church dance to help shake winter blues

WARREN

Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 1836 North Road NE, will host a Shake the Winter Blues Dinner & Dance from 6 to 11 p.m. Jan. 30.

Disc jockey Diane Kelly will provide music, and the dinner menu comprises fried chicken and fish, baked potatoes, green beans almondine, coleslaw, sweet rolls and dessert. A cash bar will be available.

Patrons should feel free to dress in winter blues attire, which is blues, silvers and white. The best-dressed winter blues outfit will win a prize.

Proceeds will benefit the church’s Christian Academy and Preschool.

Shrine Club prepares for Pigskin Classic

NORTH LIMA

The Youngstown Shrine Club, 1735 W. South Range Road, is planning its 24th Annual Pigskin Classic featuring the Northeast Ohio Beer Taste at 7 p.m. Jan. 30.

Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door. They include beer tasting in a casual environment, food, entertainment, live music, dancing, refreshments and prizes.
