Kasich talks future of Jeep plant in Toledo with Fiat Chrysler
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s governor says he willing to look at any and all proposals for keeping Jeep Wrangler production in Toledo.
The governor talked with Fiat Chrysler executives today about their plans for the Toledo assembly plant while he was at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Fiat Chrysler is considering moving the Wrangler line out of Toledo so that it can be made with an aluminum body.
The head of the company said earlier this week that he’s committed to keeping the same number of jobs in Toledo because of how much he admires the workforce at the plant.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that Kasich is leaving open the possibility that Ohio could put together an incentive package to keep the Wrangler operation in the state.
