Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal consists of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $7.50. No reservations are necessary. THURSDAY
Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will serve a free supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. as a community outreach. It is open to all each month. Donations will be accepted to continue the program.
FRIDAY
Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up starting at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.
Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.
Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for freshly made potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.
St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.
St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.
SATURDAY
Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., will serve a spaghetti dinner from 4 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12; those 5 and under eat free. On the menu are all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs, bread and butter, drinks and homemade dessert. Takeouts are available beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Western Reserve Masonic Lodge, 216 E. Main St., West Farmington, is hosting a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $4.50 for children 5 to 12; kids 4 and under eat for free. Dinner consists spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, pie and coffee. Carryouts are available.
SUNDAY
Fowler Fire Department is having its monthly pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station on state Route 193. Tickets are $5.50 for senior citizens, $6.50 for other adults and $4.50 for children. Preschoolers each free.
Kinsman Presbyterian Church is serving a roast beef dinner from noon to 2 p.m., sponsored by the Men’s Organization. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for kids 12 and under and will be sold at the door. Proceeds will benefit mission projects. For more information call 330-876-4485.
Southington American Legion Post is hosting a pancake breakfast at the post home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road. The event is between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Pancakes and sausages or biscuits and gravy are $6.50 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown, will host a chicken soup dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Reservations are needed by Friday at 330-799-0914 or 330-270-9056. Meals consist of homemade soup, half of a baked chicken, potatoes, vegetable, salad, roll, dessert and coffee or tea. Prices are $12.99 plus tax for adults and $7 plus tax for children. Carryouts will be available.
VFW Triangle Post 2799 Ladies Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. The homestyle menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea. The prices are $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.
Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, Austintown, will host a pork and kraut dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The price is $9.50 for adults and $5 for kids and includes dessert and coffee. Takeouts are available.
TAKING ORDERS
First Presbyterian Church of Girard is taking orders for 15-inch homemade pepperoni rolls for $8 each, potato soup and chicken noodle soup for $5 a quart and $3 a pint and fresh-baked bread for $2 a large loaf and $1.50 a small loaf until Thursday. Orders can be placed by calling 330-647-7515. Pick up will be between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, 890 Church Hill Road in Girard.

The Sonny Litch Memorial Scholarship committee is planning a benefit spaghetti dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 24 at Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church hall, 421 Covington St. Youngstown. Litch was a Mahoning County deputy sheriff who was killed in the line of duty in 1981. All tickets must be purchased or reserved in advance by calling Darlene Litch at 330-750-6104.
