CAMPBELL

Police are investigating two separate cases of animal neglect that occurred on Tuesday.

A 19 -year-old man called police at 2:58 p.m. when he found a dead dog at his former residence on Reed Avenue. According to the report, the dog appeared to be underweight due to being unfed.

Earlier that morning at 4:08 a.m., police investigated a vacant house on 6th Street that had both the door and garage door open. Police found a tan and white cat with two empty cat food cans, and an empty bowl on the floor.

Police returned at 3:19 a.m. today to find the cat still at the house without food or water. The cat was retrieved from the house, and was given food and water, before handed over to an animal charity.
