Former part-time teacher pleads guilty to child porn charges

YOUNGSTOWN

A former part-time teacher pleaded guilty to child pornography charges today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Paul Rektor, 35, of Hollywood Avenue, entered guilty pleas before Judge R. Scott Krichbaum to three counts of illegal use of a minor in sexually oriented material and nine counts of pandering obscenity. Prosecutors are recommending 10 years. He will be sentenced March 15.

Rektor was indicted by a grand jury in October after a search of his home and computer revealed almost 150 images of child pornography.

Rektor had been a part-time teacher at Youngstown Christian School, but was laid off in June.
