Award recognizes OSU Extension support

Susan Crowell, editor of Farm and Dairy newspaper, Salem, received the Ohio Joint Council of Extension Professionals’ Friend of Extension Award during the Ohio State University Extension annual conference at the Ohio Union on the OSU campus.

Crowell was recognized by the OSU Extension for her support of county and statewide extension programming and her active role in promoting the OSU Extension on the state and federal levels.

She has been a member of the state extension advisory committee for more than 20 years and is its immediate past president. She has served on OSU’s College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Vice President’s Advisory Committee since its inception.

In 2011, she was appointed one of three Ohio delegates to the Association of Public and Land Grant University’s Council on Agricultural Research, Extension and Teaching and earlier this year, she was named the council’s liaison to ECOP, the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy, which is the organization for extension directors across the U.S.

Crowell also serves on the eXtension National Leadership Council.

She and her husband, Keith, live near Lisbon.

The award is given annually to recipients who were nominated by county, regional or state extension staff for their outstanding service to Ohio State University Extension.
