10 years in prison for execution-style killing

WARREN

Lamont Salter, 26, formerly of Second Street Southwest, pleaded guilty Monday to involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping and aggravated burglary in the execution-style killing of a Michigan man in July 2012.

Judge W. Wyatt McKay sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

That will be served on top of the three years he has left on the prison sentence he is already serving for robbery and weapons charges that date from May 2012 in Warren.

Salter pleaded guilty Monday to being one of four masked men who fired guns at Delshawn Scott, 36, on July 9, 2012, killing him near the entrance to a house on Charles Avenue Southeast.

Scott was a Detroit native with a Detroit prison record for armed robbery. He had not lived at the Charles Avenue residence very long and was apparently not the intended victim, police said.
