The Ohio Fraternal Order of Police is urging residents to support officers by signing an online petition and submitting photos of themselves through a new website in an effort that also includes radio ads and a social media campaign.

The FOP says the site, StandWithCops.org, is “a response to recent controversies that have hurt the relationship between police and the communities they serve.”

The effort had been in the works earlier but was unveiled Friday in conjunction with a “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.”
