Julianne Strauss and Scott Brownlee, both of Columbus, exchanged wedding vows at 1 p.m. Aug. 9, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Church, where the Rev. Robert Kitsmiller officiated.

A reception followed at The Ivory Room, and the couple honeymooned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

She is the daughter of Thomas and Cheryl Strauss of Boardman, and he is the son of Robert Brownlee of Columbus and the late Bonnie Brownlee.

The bride’s ivory strapless silk gown featured a layered ruffle skirt and a bodice embellished with crystals and pearls.

Gina Strauss, sister of the bride, and Cara Vernal served as honor attendants. Bridesmaids were Beth Klein; Suzanne Henderly, sister of the groom; Lisa Kelly; Gianna Hlebovy, cousin of the bride; and Mallory Amendolara. Attendants wore blush dresses with a metallic overlay.

Dan Valdivia and Justin Ferguson shared the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Trent Spangler; Steve Henderly, brother-in-law of the groom; Josh Fink; Rob Brownlee, brother of the groom; and Matt Meyer.

Ring bearer was Camdyn Henderly, the groom’s nephew.

The bride graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in apparel merchandising and product development. She is employed as a senior production coordinator for the Women’s Wovens Division of Express.

The groom graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in integrated strategic communications. He is a visual merchandiser for the men’s international flagship stores at Abercrombie & Fitch.
