The Office of Worship of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will sponsor its annual Liturgy Day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 31 at St. William Church, 5411 Mahoning Ave.
“Liturgical Ministry – With Hearts, Hands and Voices” is the theme of the program that will focus on the role, function and participation of liturgical ministers within the liturgy as they contribute to the unity of the Church and its evangelizing mission.
Rita Thiron, executive director of the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions, will be keynote speaker. She also will offer a second address to close the day. Three sessions of various workshops will provide further information for priests, deacons, parish staff, liturgy committees, musicians, lay leaders of prayer, liturgical ministers and anyone who is interested in liturgy.

Fast under way
CANFIELD
Members of Touch Heaven Canfield Church, 10 Skyline Drive, are participating in a congregational fast through Jan. 26 to pray for intentions including transformation, healing and deliverance.
Pastor Frank Amedia also is starting the series, “A Supernatural Journey into Your Inner Man” at 7 p.m. Thursday and Sunday.

Kedar Acharyaji, founder of Bhakti School and Supreme Meditation in Erie, Pa., will present three programs this month on meditation and chanting at Bella Nitesh, 837 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite 200.
