The Newcomers Club of Canfield will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Boardman home of one of its members.
Those attending are encouraged to take at least two wrapped new or re-gifted items.
A covered dish or drinks to share also are appreciated.

Library to offer crocheting class
Leetonia
A class on crocheting a capelet will take place at 5 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Leetonia Community Public Library, 181 Walnut St.
The capelet can be worn across the upper arms and shoulders or as a neck scarf. Medium-weight yarn and a size K hook will be needed to complete the project.

Workshop will take look at depression
HUBBARD
A free workshop focusing on depression is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 31 at Hubbard Public Library, 436 W. Liberty St.
Titled “More Than Sad: Suicide Prevention Education for Teachers and Other School Personnel,” this educational program is designed to help teachers and other school personnel learn more about teen suicide and how they can play a role in its prevention. It features two films and a manual and complies with state requirements/recommendations for teacher education in suicide prevention. It also is a valuable resource for church leaders, youth leaders, coaches, social workers and anyone working with middle-school or teen students.
This workshop is open to the public, but registration is required. Registration forms are available by emailing treventunmasked@gmail.com. The registration deadline is Jan. 28.
