Several local government officials will deliver reports during the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Good Morning Vienna and Fowler breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 23 at Avalon Golf and Country Club Squaw Creek.

Dan Dickten, aviation director at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, Mathews Schools Superintendent Lew Lowery, Vienna Trustee Heidi Brown and Fowler Trustee Jeff Davis will provide updates at the event sponsored by Cortland Banks. The audience also will hear from the chamber, the Valley’s lead economic-development agency.

Interim CEO at Team NEO

CLEVELAND

Grant Goodrich has been named interim CEO of Team NEO, according to a news release from the organization.

Before joining Team NEO, Grant was director of regional strategy implementation with the Fund for our Economic Future. He played an integral role in advancing a regional economic- competitiveness strategy for Northeast Ohio and was instrumental in facilitating an analysis of the region’s economic-development system.

Goodrich will provide needed continuity and direction for the organization as the board conducts a search for a permanent CEO.

Deb Shops to close

NILES

Deb Shops, a Philadelphia-based retailer that sells clothing for teens and young women, is closing all its locations. The store started its going-out-of-business sale Friday. The store has a location at Eastwood Mall.

Yuengling Ice Cream poised for growth

ORWIGSBURG, PA.

Yuengling’s Ice Cream is primed for continued growth in 2015 after its return to the market one year ago, according to a news release from the company.

The ice cream’s availability grew from an initial limited distribution in central Pennsylvania and several other states to a significant brand position with major retailers in a large number of states.

To celebrate its first-year successes, Yuengling’s Ice Cream will launch its “Free Ice Cream for a Year” contest on its social media sites. Fans simply need to share their favorite flavor of Yuengling’s Ice Cream. On Feb. 2, the company will randomly choose four winners to receive 52 coupons for free ice cream. 17,000 jobs added in manufacturing

WASHINGTON

The Department of Labor reported Friday that America’s manufacturing sector added 17,000 jobs in December. Manufacturing gained 186,000 jobs and accounted for 6.4 percent of all job growth in 2014.

This brings a total of more than 283,000 jobs during President Barack Obama’s second term, according to the Alliance for American Manufacturing, which tracks the president’s promise to create 1 million new manufacturing jobs in his second term.
