PennDOT lowers speed limit on roadways in the region

MERCER, PA.

Due to the severity of today’s winter storm, PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit on several roadways in the region.

PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel, but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:

• Interstate 79 from Exit 116B (Interstate 80 interchange) in Mercer County to Exit 54 (Bridgeville, Route 50 in Allegheny County.

• Interstate 376 from the Interstate 80 interchange in Mercer County to Exit 79B (Penn Avenue) in Allegheny County.
