Ohio man arrested after 6-year-old spotted in casino garage

CINCINNATI (AP) — A man accused of leaving his 6-year-old son in a car while he went inside a Cincinnati casino to gamble has been jailed.

Hamilton County court records show 34-year-old Dontae Smith was found inside the Horseshoe Casino after police received a call Thursday morning about a child alone in a vehicle in the casino’s garage.

Authorities say the child was OK. It is unclear how long he had been left in the car. Outside temperatures were dangerously cold Thursday morning.

Smith was charged with child endangerment and jailed on $5,000 bond.

Court records didn’t list an attorney for him.
