First aid for pets

The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, is offering a pet first-aid course from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the adult lounge. The cost is $6 for members and $8 for nonmembers. After Monday, the cost is $10. Participants will learn how to respond to health emergencies, how to stock a pet first-aid kit, how to safely muzzle a dog and where to check the animal for a pulse. This lunchtime learning is sponsored by the American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley. Lunch is included. Rollover crash

YOUNGSTOWN

A driver was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash Thursday night, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV, reported. Police responded to South Bon Air Avenue on the city’s West side about 8 p.m. Thursday after a car traveling south apparently flipped and landed on its roof against a tree, the report said. The driver was responsive when police arrived. No information was available at press time about the cause of the accident or the identity of the driver.
