Crews fixing water main break near the Rescue Mission center in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN

A crew from the city water department spent most of Thursday working to repair a water main break on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The crew said the waterline, right next to the Rescue Mission residence center at 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., burst about 3 p.m. They were still working on the repair as of about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Crew members said they expected the repair to take several more hours.

The Rescue Mission’s water services were not affected by the break, a representative of the mission said.

The road around the break was icy, and traffic was down to one lane in front of the center.

Officials with the water department did not have any additional information about the break Thursday night.
