Congressmen make wager on OSU-Oregon championship game

WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, placed a bet on Monday’s college national championship game with U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio, a Democrat from Springfield, Ore.

If the University of Oregon wins Ryan will give DeFazio a gallon of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, based in Columbus, and a gallon of Youngstown’s Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt.

If the Buckeyes win the title game, DeFazio will give Ryan a bottle of Oregon wine. The two will appear on MSNBC’s “Ed Show,” on Monday to discuss the wager. The show airs at 5 p.m.
