When: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What: Did Santa bring you a new camera for Christmas? Is entering the Nature Photography Exhibit on your bucket list? Members of the Youngstown Camera Club and Warren Photographic Society will present several informative sessions about all aspects of photography. Bring your camera and lunch.

BIRD COUNTING
When: Next Thursday, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
What: Discover the world of citizen science through bird feeding. In addition to learning how to identify and count birds in the bird observatory, you’ll also construct a basic bird feeder to take home.
Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva.
Cost: Free. Registration limited and required.
Details: Participants should be 7 to 11 years old. Program takes place indoors.

Winter Sunshine

What: Have fun learning all about oranges, lemons, and limes — the sunshine plants. Make a citrus craft and have sunny snacks.

Coffee With The Birds

Garden Design Theory
When: Jan. 17, 10 a.m. to noon.
What: Class will answer the question of “Where do I even begin in designing an ornamental garden?” Bridget Beck, garden designer, will cover basic design elements found in all art and design including concepts of order, unity and rhythm. This class is one-part lecture on design theory and one-part workshop in applying these theories when choosing perennials for your garden.

Positive Thinking for a Happy Mind
When: Jan. 18, 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
What: Build a better, more-cooperative relationship with yourself and apply practical methods for cultivating a happier mind with Karres Cvetkovich. Neuro- science has proved that the mind can be rewired for greater day-to-day happiness and less anxiety. Current research shows that happiness is a cause, rather than a result, of success.
