Staff report
NEWTON FALLS
Joshua A. Curry, 21, of Briggs Road in Leavittsburg, who stole a Christmas package from the porch of a home in Braceville Township on Dec. 1, has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor petty theft.
Curry was sentenced Tuesday in Newton Falls Municipal Court to 180 days in the Trumbull County Jail with 153 of them suspended and credit for 27 days already served, meaning he has nearly completed his sentence for the crime.
He remained in the jail late Tuesday, jail officials said. He is responsible for court costs of $125.
A resident of Kale Adams Road in Braceville posted a video on Facebook of Curry taking a large package containing an automobile part from his porch and driving away with it.
The video helped police identify Curry and make the arrest. The $600 part was returned to the owner.
