Lordstown GM plant back at work after evacuation
LORDSTOWN — The General Motors Lordstown plant was evacuated for a short time overnight after a worker reported a suspicious device in a restroom, according to news partner 21 WFMJ-TV.
Lordstown Fire Department officials told WFMJ that the device was a tin can, partially filled with a putty-like substance with a battery and copper wire sticking out of it.
Officials called the Youngstown Bomb Squad to investigate. After inspecting the device, it was determined to be harmless.
Workers were back at work shortly after 2 a.m.
