Leigh Greene-Colvin named head of the Minority Health Division

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Board of Health approved several professional services contracts at its meeting Monday.

They include:

An agreement with Leigh Greene-Colvin, of Youngstown, effective last Thursday, to head the health department’s Minority Health Division. Greene-Colvin will earn up to $21,120 per year to be paid in installments upon submission of services performed. The health district will not withhold local, state or federal income taxes.

An agreement with Alexander’s Pest Control for mosquito and rodent control. The firm will be paid $100 per visit for rodent control, not to exceed $17,250; $125 for larviciding, $85 per visit for light trapping and $200 per hour for adulticiding, all to do with mosquito control, not to exceed $7,750.

An agreement with Joan L. Boyd, Ph.D, of Youngstown, to direct the department’s clinical laboratory. She will be paid an amount not to exceed $4,800. The health district will not withhold local, state or federal income taxes.

An agreement with the Mahoning County District Board of Health to perform inspections of commercial and residential septic systems and investigations of wastewater complaints in Youngstown. The county health board will be reimbused at a rate of $40 per hour plus mileage. The contract takes effect Feb. 1 and ends Dec. 31, 2016.

In other action, the board appointed Darlene Enke as interim office manager of the vital-statistics division.
