Leavittsburg man sentenced for Howland robbery

WARREN

Darrell K. Moore, 31, of Nelson Mosier Road in Leavittsburg, pleaded guilty Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to felony robbery and was sentenced to four years in prison for robbing the Certified gas station, 3840 Elm Road in Howland, early April 6.

Howland police said Moore came into the store at just after midnight and asked for 10 cartons of cigarettes of various kinds and tried to pay for them with a credit card.

The clerk asked for identification, and Moore said he would need to wait for his wife to come back. The clerk put the cigarettes behind the counter, and Moore walked around the store a little while, then walked behind the counter, but the clerk pushed Moore back out.

Moore then threatened to hurt the clerk badly if he didn’t let him take the cigarettes, so the clerk stepped aside and Moore ran out with them, police said.
