Boardman police look into healthcare center threat

BOARDMAN

Township police are investigating a terroristic threat reportedly made against a home healthcare center.

An employee of Cornerstone Home Health, located at 8170 South Ave., reported to police Monday that one of the company's in-home healthcare nurses witnessed a threat made to the business.

While at the residence of a patient in Youngstown, the nurse said someone related to the patient threatened to "shoot up" Cornerstone, according to a police report.

The nurse told police that due to staffing issues, the patient has not been getting in-home care on a daily basis.

The suspect reportedly told the nurse in response to this issue, "Pretty soon if something happens to my mom, someone's going to come and shoot up the place, and it's going to be me."

Both the nurse and the company supervisor told police they believe the threat is legitimate.
