Woman serious after shooting of 3

YOUNGSTOWN

City police had made no arrests as of Sunday in the shooting of three people at 11:37 p.m. Saturday in the 700 Block of Delaware Avenue.

According to the police, the victims are a black male, 24, shot in the groin; a black female, 58, wounded in the shin; and a second black female, 22, shot in the foot. As of early Sunday, one victim was listed in serious condition and undergoing surgery, and the other two as stable, all at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

The names of the victims have not been made public.

Texan pulls gun on state troopers

NEW CASTLE, PA.

A Texas man pulled a handgun on Pennsylvania State Police officers when they attempted to wake him by knocking on the window of his pick-up, which was stuck in a field off McDowell Road just west of state Route 168 in Hickory Township in Lawrence County.

Police were sent to the scene at 1:30 a.m. Saturday after emergency medical personnel reported that the driver, Jed Alan Frazier, 25, of Corpus Christi, refused treatment and locked himself in his vehicle.

When Frazier brandished a gun, state police, with the help of local police departments and troopers, removed him from his truck. Among other charges, he was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and driving under the influence. He was arraigned before a district judge and placed in Lawrence County Jail.

Four hurt in crashes

MERCER, PA.

Four people were injured, two seriously, in two vehicle crashes Saturday in Mercer County, Pa.

Destinee R. Armagost, 17, of Greenville, Pa., suffered a major injury in a two-car crash on Hadley Road 1,000 feet west of Long Hill Road in Otter Creek Township at 8:30 a.m.

A passenger in the car that Destinee was driving, Austin R. Armagost, 15, also of Greenville, suffered a moderate injury, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer, Pa. Kira Taufer, 17, of Hadley, Pa., driver of the second car, suffered minor injuries.

In a second crash at 7:53 a.m., on Rodgers Hill Road in Coolspring Township, a car driven by Melissa E. Kosnac, 24, of Fredonia, Pa., slid through the intersection of Russell Road and Rodgers Hill and struck a utility pole. Kosnac suffered a moderate injury.
