NOAS has adoption education series this month

Staff report

WARREN

Northeast Ohio Adoption Services invites Ohio couples or singles to register for the agency’s free adoption/foster care pre-placement education series starting Jan. 20.

Adults older than 21 who have been considering becoming a foster or adoptive parent can find out more about Ohio children and teens served by the child welfare system.

The sessions will start Jan. 20 and continue each Tuesday through Feb. 10 at the NOAS offices, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 26.

Participants will learn more about the care, commitment and strategies that often are helpful when children need a warm-hearted family to grow up safer and healthier.

The deadline for class registration is Jan. 13. If a participant can’t attend a certain session, makeup opportunities are available.

Because of limited space, interested participants are urged to call Cindy Wallis as soon as possible at 800-686-6627, ext. 126.

An informational packet will be mailed, and information on registering for adoption or foster parenting will be provided.

NOAS does not charge fees to families for adoption. It is a private, nonprofit agency aimed at Ohio families who live within 90 minutes of its Warren office. Since 1978, the organization has developed families for more than 1,200 children and teens. Visit www.noas.com for information.
