Gayshawn Bryant, 20, of High Street Northeast in Howland is in the Trumbull County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond after being charged with aggravated robbery related to a Tuesday night confrontation with a 17-year-old male on Clifton Drive in Howland.

A judge entered a not-guilty plea to the charge during arraignment Friday morning in Warren Municipal Court. Bryant was booked into the jail at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday.

A 17-year-old Clifton Drive boy said Bryant and another male walked toward him from the wooded area behind his house while holding a gun at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The two males “jumped and slammed him multiple times to the ground in his driveway, knocking his glasses off of his face and causing scratches to his hands,” a Howland police report said.

Bryant held a gun to the youth’s head and asked him who is in the house. The boy told them no one was home. Bryant and the other male took the teen’s phone from his pants, and the youth was able to run away, he said. The victim said he knew Bryant before the incident.
